Among Us 2 cancelled, devs to focus on improving the first game

With the recent announcement of Among Us 2, the devs have confirmed just as easily that Part 2 has indeed been cancelled and will instead focus on adding all the content and improvements planned into the current game.

The announcement was made on a blog post by Developers Innersloth, saying that “All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!”

The planned improvements down the line will include Colorblind support, a friends / account system, a new stage (yay!), and continuous server improvements.

No schedule has been revealed for these improvements but we can expect it to take a while because of all the code support that the game will need to get it up to spec. We’re sure the fans won’t mind!

Similar to Fall Guys, Among Us was a surprise hit this year, not only for the fact that it isn’t a triple A game or that it wasn’t marketed heavily, but simply because it was a 2018 game that saw a huge resurgence due to a Twitch following.
