Final Fantasy XIV’s latest expansion, Endwalker, revealed
Over the weekend, the hugely successful MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV dropped a number of huge announcements, the first of which was the reveal of the next expansion entitled Endwalker, set to release in the Fall of 2021.
As announced on the official Final Fantasy XIV website, the expansion will come with the usual slew of new content such as a new main questline, new areas to explore, a level cap increase to 90, and a new high-difficulty raid called Pandæmonium, among others.
In the midst of all the Endwalker hype, a PlayStation 5 version for the game was also announced, which will have an open beta on April 13, 2021. The next-gen version will utilize the power of the hardware, translating to improved frame rates, lightning fast load times, 4K support, and much more.
Even better, if you’ve been playing the game on the PS4, you’ll be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
The last reveal during the showcase was the gundam-like Sage, the new job. If you’re wondering why this is being compared to a Gundam of all things, check out the trailer below!
The showcase was just the tip of the iceberg for Endwalker, and more information shall be revealed when the FFXIV Digital Fan Festival 2021 happens on May 15-16.
If you’re itching out to try the game, the ongoing free trial is such a great deal, allowing you to play until through the Heavensward expansion.
