Assassin’s Creed Infinity revealed, will be going live service confirms Ubisoft
Update:
Following the report from Bloomberg, Ubisoft have officially announced in a blog post that Assassin’s Creed Infinity is indeed the next project in the franchise, saying that “this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve in a more integrated and collaborative manner that’s less centered on studios and more focused on talent and leadership, no matter where they are within Ubisoft.”
The project will be led by Marc-Alexis Côté, who will serve as executive producer. Côté worked on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Syndicate, with his most recent project being senior producer on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The blog post also confirms the collaborative efforts of Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec for the project.

With each new Assassin’s Creed game in the series getting bigger and bigger, Ubisoft is seemingly taking the next logical step in the progression, and reports say that the next outing codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be going full live service.
Reported by Bloomberg, the game looks to be years away, at least 2024 to be exact, and it looks to “create a massive online platform that evolves over time.” Jason Schreier further elaborates that the game will be a platform that “contain multiple settings with room to expand to others in the months and years following its debut.” The platform will be looking to contain individual games which may look and feel different, but will all be connected to each other.
This all sounds like a very big undertaking, as Ubisoft is trying to replicate the long-term success of titles like Fortnite, which is why both Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec will be working on the game. Prior to this arrangement, Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec took turns to release an Assassin’s Creed game.
While all this may sound like something that’s too good to be true, Schreier indicates in the report that a Ubisoft spokeswoman indeed confirmed the existence of the project, but did not reveal any details about it.
At this point, Schreier mentions that details of Assassin’s Creed Infinity are still up in the air, but the vision seems to be that the game “may be some sort of hub that allows people to play multiple AC games both big and small.”
What do you think of the next Assassin’s Creed game in development? Do you think it is a good step for the franchise?
