Gran Turismo 7’s GT Campaign Mode will require an internet connection
During the recently concluded PlayStation Showcase, Gran Turismo 7 made quite an appearance, showing off impressive footage and booking a March 4, 2022 release date for both the PlayStation 4 and 5.
Alongside the trailer was a lengthy PlayStation Blog entry by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi detailing the various modes and features of Gran Turismo 7, including the much-awaited return of the GT Campaign Mode.
Eagle-eyed players have noticed though that a number of these modes such as the GT Campaign, Livery Editor, GT Cafe, and even GT Auto are all marked with an asterisk, signifying that all of these will require an internet connection and has been negatively received by a number of players looking forward to the game.
There has been quite a number of complaints as you can see in various posts around social media as well as a huge thread over at Reddit where players are questioning the need for it, unlike GT Sport which was sold as an online experience.
It could be argued that having an internet connection is more of a necessity these days but not everyone has a reliable connection that might be required to play this properly.
Whatever the case may be, hopefully Sony clears this up soon and lets us know what exactly is needed to run the game.
Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled to release on March 4, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and 5.
