Riot Games Eyes Philippine Office To Support Regional Expansion
Riot Games has bared plans to expand further in the Southeast Asian region and with it, set up local offices in various countries including the Philippines.
This comes by way of a report by ABS-CBN News, saying the plans came via an announcement by Riot Games Head of Country Operations Shinji Komiyama during a virtual press conference and mentioned that this aims to bring the company closer to the gamers and will happen in “a few months.”
Local offices are planned in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, on top of the offices already set up in Japan and Singapore. As for the Philippine local office, it will be headed by Joel Guzman taking the role as Country Manager.
Managing Director of Riot Games in the region Alec Kraynov shares that Southeast Asia has promising potential to be the biggest region for the company, saying “This region is intricately diverse, with massive gaming communities that have diverse needs and a strong appetite for mobile gaming.”

This comes as no surprise, especially with all the recent efforts to produce regional content for their games, with the likes of the first Filipino agent, Neon, in VALORANT.
This move can only mean more big things in store for players in the Philippines that support the various Riot Games properties like Wild Rift and the massively successful Netflix show, Arcane.
