Sega Is Reportedly Working On ‘Big-Budget’ Crazy Taxi And Jet Set Radio Reboots
Longtime fans of classic Sega Dreamcast titles Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio may have something to look forward to as the company is reportedly developing big-budget reboots of both games.
According to a report from Bloomberg, both of these titles will be the first 2 games in Sega’s “Super Game Initiative” that was announced back in 2021 and will help create recurring revenue sources along with building online communities. Fortnite is a “role model” for such titles, a game that has built a name for itself through some big-named events and a deluge of ongoing content updates that entice players to spend on in-game purchases.
Furthermore, the report states that the Crazy Taxi reboot has been in development for over a year and is planned to release “within two to three years.” Despite that being the case, the report also highlights that “Both new games are in the early stages of creation and could still be canceled.”
Fans have since been longing for new releases for both titles and whether or not this is how they envisioned the new games to be will have to wait until we see a formal announcement from Sega.
Jet Set Radio followers won’t have to wait much longer though, as a spiritual successor of sorts entitled Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is set to release for the Switch in 2022.

What do you think of this? Would you rather have both Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio remastered/remade instead of taking it in the “Super Game” direction?
