Street Fighter 6 Release Date Announced, Coming in 2023
Capcom was on a roll during the PlayStation State of Play. After coming in strong with the Resident Evil 4 Remake, the company follows up with the hard-hitting reveal of the Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer and a 2023 release date announcement.
As detailed in the PlayStation Blog, the latest entry in the series will be bringing back the usual features but will also introduce brand-new modes such as World Tour and Battle Hub. This release will be using the RE engine that was used in games like Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cry 5, which will see enhanced visuals that will complement the graffiti treatment of the game.

Aside from showing more of the two new fighters in Jamie and Luke, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that long-time veterans of the franchise, Ryu and Chun-Li, would also make their return to the game.
Capcom also revealed a couple of new mechanics to the game – The Drive system increases the “degree of tactical freedom and give full play to the player’s personality” by using the Drive gauge with the multiple battle systems.
The game will also feature “Modern Control Type” which is a simplified control system that will assist newbies in playing and enjoying the game.
Additionally, Street Fighter 6 will feature real-time commentary from well-known Capcom Pro Tour talents such as Mr. Aru and Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez. More commentators will be added in the future.
Street Fighter 6 is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC in 2023.
