Doraemon: Story of Seasons – Friends of the Great Kingdom saw a November 2 release date for the PS5, Switch, and PC via Steam. Strangely enough, other versions of the game, such as an Xbox or even a PS4 version, were noticeably missing, prompting players to wonder why such a game wasn’t more widely available.

During the recently concluded Thailand Game Show 2022, we got a chance to speak with Producer Koji Nakajima (via a translator), who was more than willing to answer a few of our questions.

When asked about why the game wasn’t available for the PS4 or Xbox, Nakajima-san mentioned that the team just finished working hard and is currently in a cooldown stage after focusing on a smooth release. Now that the game has already launched, the team will be listening intently to the fan requests and will surely consider porting it to more platforms depending on the feedback.

While it was not directly answered why there is no PS4 version of Doraemon: Story of Season – Friends of the Great Kingdom despite a PS5 version being available, Nakajima-san simply apologized and said that the only available versions of the game are the ones that were currently slated for launch (PS5, Switch, PC).
