Sony Smashes Records as PS5 Sales Hit 38.4 Million Units Worldwide
Sony has announced that it has sold 38.4 million PS5 consoles worldwide thanks to a strong Q4 2022 Fiscal Year.
In the latest financial results from the company, it was revealed that 6.3 million consoles were shipped during January – March 31, 2023, a significant increase of 4.3 million consoles sold during the same period last year, triple what it was last year, and its best-ever Q4 earnings.
The numbers are seriously impressive, considering that the PS5 had faced heavy supply issues prior to this year. Compared to the PS4, which had sold over 40 million in the same time period, the latest console from Sony is just a couple of million behind even with supply issues.
Sony will look to keep the momentum going heading into the rest of 2023, especially with the Final Fantasy XVI PS5 bundle just recently announced, along with other titles coming later this year like Spider-Man 2.
