The August 2023 Game Releases are right around the corner, and coming from a relatively light release list back in July, this month will certainly heat things up with a few indie titles to watch out for and some fan favorites that will more than likely steal your heart as well.

First up, Team 17 is following their indie darling Dredge with Blasphemous 2, the sequel to one of the more celebrated Metroidvanias in the indie sphere. Speaking of indies, there are a few titles here that are worth looking out for: WrestleQuest, Goodbye Volcano High, and of course, the highly anticipated Sea of Stars.

Next is a title that’s been highly anticipated by FromSoftware and Armored Core fans throughout the years, and it is the supremely promising Armored Core VI: Fires of the Rubicon.

Tower of Fantasy

Release Date: August 8, 2023

The August 2023 Game Releases roster opens to the console launch of Tower of Fantasy. This fun MMO is set in the fantastic world of Aida where you play as a wanderer that encounters mutant creatures and hostile forces as you advance through the story.

WrestleQuest

It’s been a while since we last heard from WrestleQuest. It was slated to release last summer, but now we have a final release date this August. From our impressions, there was definitely “a lot of care put into this project by its developers.”

Overwatch 2: Invasion

Focus Interactive finally launches Atlas Fallen as part of the August 2023 Game Releases. In this action RPG, you can fully customize your avatar as you survive in this perilous post-apocalyptic world.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

The spiritual sequel to Jet Set Radio graces us as part of the August 2023 Game Releases. Build your combo meter as you explore through the highly stylized cities in this frenetic action skater.

Immortals of Aveum

Release Date: August 22, 2023
Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC

Definitely one to look out for is EA Originals’ Immortals of Aveum. This frenetic shooter from the previews appears fantastic and potentially a fun shooter. We can’t wait to try it soon!

Pick of the Month: Blasphemous 2

The crowning release for Team 17 drops as part of the August 2023 Game Releases with the release of Blasphemous 2. Get ready for a tough but enjoyable ride, one with a unique style featuring its gothic imagery and themes.

Pick of the Month 2: Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon

If there’s a title we’re excited for this coming August 2023, it’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Brand loyalty isn’t the only thing that the title has going for it, and from our preview, Armored Core VI is definitely shaping up to be another must-play FromSoftware title.

Sea of Stars

Goodbye Volcano High

The August 2023 Game Releases also marks the release of Goodbye Volcano High, previously slated to release in June. In this narrative rhythm adventure about the end of the world, we get to witness the choices of these teenage dinosaurs.
