Microsoft has announced that Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is now available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass.

The game is built from the ground up for Xbox players and will include native inputs for the Xbox controller, a console-specific user interface, and an intuitive new tutorial designed to help onboard new players.

Included in this anniversary edition are four distinct campaigns with 35 missions spanning 500 years of history, from the Dark Ages up to the Renaissance, along with Skirmish and Multiplayer which features a selection of 10 diverse civilizations across the world.

The game will also feature a host of accessibility options, including:

• Adjustable difficulty, including Story Mode 
• Pick up and play with a controller, or easily plug in a mouse and keyboard instead  
• In-game narration 
• High contrast mode
