Dragon’s Dogma 2 Reveals New Information Regarding Pawns System
Capcom has revealed new information about Dragon’s Dogma 2, detailing the improvements to the Pawn system, along with an interview with Game Director Hideaki Itsuno about his vision for the game.
Courtesy of a series of videos by IGN, a deep dive into the Pawn system with Itsuno-san reveals that players will create their Pawn with their Vocation, gearing them up however they like. The Pawn will be shared online with the rest of the world so that another player can hire your Pawn that’s equipped with both the gear and knowledge that you provide it.
Additionally, the AI-controlled Pawns have massively improved from the first game, leading to a more immersive playthrough.
One notable improvement in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is that players can expect to see not only NPCs having an affinity for the player, but these NPCs can also feel attached to other NPCs.
Relationships between NPCs and players may also be enhanced, and while that’s the case, it may be possible for NPCs to get into fights over the player if they perceive another NPC as a threat.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will feature a map that’s four times the size compared to the original game, filled with interesting things to see and do. This is just one of the things that Itsuno-san had envisioned for the game but didn’t get to do in the original due to technical limitations.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is scheduled to release on March 22, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
