- However, when playing the Legends online multiplayer mode, a PSN account will be required.
Sucker Punch has announced ahead of its May 16 PC launch of Ghost of Tsushima that a PSN account is not required to play the single-player content.
This announcement follows the controversial PSN account rollout for Helldivers 2, where Sony has made linking a PSN account mandatory after a certain date.
The developers made the important clarification on X, saying “Just so you are aware, a PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay.”
“It is not required to play the singleplayer game,” Sucker Punch adds.
Ghost of Tsushima on PC will be the first Sony title to implement the PlayStation overlay, which provides access to essential information such as your Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and Profile.
