Sony Cancels Two More PlayStation Projects

Sony has been wanting a piece of the live-service pie in the past few years, but that effort seems to be dwindling as a new report claims that two unannounced PlayStation live-service projects from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games have been canceled.

One of the games seems to have been a God of War title, the report claims.

According to a report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, these two projects have been canned following a recent review. Sony spokesperson confirmed the report, saying neither Bend Studio nor Bluepoint Games will be shut down and emphasized that both studios are highly valued members of the PS Studios family. Efforts are being made to determine their next projects and minimize job losses.

Over the past few years, PlayStation has invested heavily in live-service games. While some of these ventures have been successful, such as 2024’s Helldivers II, most have not fared as well, with Concord being the infamous example. The company has also canceled several other live-service games in recent years, including a Spider-Man game.
