Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – Swimsuit Guide
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the latest RPG from Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive. The Final Fantasy and Persona series greatly inspired it, and it produces a fantastic RPG similar to the two legendary modern-day RPGs.
Funny enough, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 followed the formula for the games to the letter, which includes, yes, you guessed it- mini-games and swimsuit cosmetics! And you know us, we gotta have a swimsuit guide! And how do you procure these swimsuits, you might ask? Well, through some time-consuming mini-games!
These mini-games are worth it, though, and if you need help to procure them, here’s a trusty guide to get all of the swimsuits for all characters in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33!

Men’s Swimsuit I and Lune Swimsuit I
You will earn the first swimsuit in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 when you first run into the Gestral Beach halfway through Act I. You can go ahead and challenge this mini-game. But be warned, it involves a lot of trial and error!

This Gestral Beach is located northwest of the Gestral village, next to the Hidden Gestral Arena. It’s not too hard to find.
The first part of this challenge involves crossing a narrow obstacle course. Every time you fall into the water, you must start again. I recommend walking instead of full-on sprinting until you reach the second half of the obstacle course.
The second half involves quite a bit of platforming. Watch out for the holes in the spinning wheels and time your jumps right. The last jump is tricky. You can’t simply hop over; you must execute a running jump.
The Gestral will give you Gustave’s swimsuit when you reach the goal. You will need to answer a quiz question to earn Lune’s swimsuit. The answer is 17, but the Gestral says he doesn’t know the answer… I won’t risk a wrong answer and repeat that course!
Lune Swimsuit II and Sciel Swimsuit II

The second Gestral Beach in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 can be accessed when Esquie finally learns to swim. You can find it northeast of Stone Wave Cliffs beside all the coral. It involves completing the hardest level of beach volleyball. Finishing the first two difficulties will net you some neat rewards and help you get the timing right for the game.
The key would be to time hitting the ball back to your opponent without your opponent destroying your raft. The good news is that the opponent doesn’t retaliate, so you can rest easy knowing that once you’ve hit the ball back, you’re in the clear. The bad news is that the harder the opponent gets, the more “lives” they have while you have only five chances.
The hardest level will have you score 20 points against the opponent. The timing is quicker, and the hit box is trickier. So the key thing is to wait in the middle of the raft and hope that the RNG lets the opponent hit as many balls on one side as possible. There are three directions, so may the RNG be in your favor!
Monoco Swimsuit
This is probably the most annoying of the Gestral Beach Challenges in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Not because it is difficult, but because it is long. It is the harder version of the first challenge, but it involves climbing. And when you fall to the bottom, you just have to try again!

You can find this Gestral Beach after Monoco has joined your party. When you make your way up to Old Lumiere, take a slight detour west of the western exit of Monoco’s Station. You can find the beach on an island.
I’d divide this challenge into three parts. The first part is quite tricky, as it’ll introduce you to the differences between hopping and sprint jumping. Take care not to overshoot your jumps or you’ll start again. Also, learn how to climb platforms. The end of the first part will be right by the propeller. Spring jump at an angle instead of trying to hop onto the propeller. It’ll save you a lot of time, believe me.
The second part of the challenge starts with the carousel and ends when you reach the Gestral pointing up. There are a lot of tricky jumps here that involve knowing the difference between hopping and sprint jumping. This time, the stakes are higher because when you fall, you fall.
The third part of the challenge is probably the easiest, as it just involves watching for tricky hops and using a grappling hook to get to hard-to-reach areas. When you fall, hope to land either in the second part or, at worst, somewhere in the latter half of the first part of the challenge. Once you’ve climbed up, enjoy Monoco’s awkward swimsuit!
Men’s Swimsuit II
Once Esquie can access beyond the coral in the middle of Act II, you can access this Gestral Beach. You’ll find the Sirene island if you sail northeast of Old Lumiere. Sail further northeast and you’ll land on that Gestral Beach.

This is probably one of the easier Gestral Beach challenges in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Although it is a timed obstacle course, don’t let it intimidate you.
The key is sprinting as fast as possible to the next platform. Take care not to overshoot it or land in a roll; that can shave seconds off your time. By the time you reach the final leg of the challenge, take the right path when you start climbing, as it’ll save you at least three seconds to get under 38 seconds. The left path gives you a nice runway to make the last sprint jump easy, at the cost of three extra seconds.
Sciel Swimsuit I and Maelle Swimsuit

To get Sciel’s second swimsuit, you must start Act III of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You would need to get her to Friendship Level 5 by now. Finishing the Friendship sequence to rank up to 6 will net you the swimsuit and a heartfelt scene. Enjoy!
Finally, Maelle’s swimsuit can be accessed by using Esquie’s ability to fly to reach the landlocked beach in the northeastern part of the map. You must climb the tower while fireballs descend from the sky to get the swimsuit. This can be the easiest or hardest challenge, depending on your RNG.
Just like the volleyball game, may the RNG be in your favor. In my experience, climb to the right as this area didn’t have many fireballs descending, and keep going and time it right until you can climb the middle. Or you can hope the game will glitch, and they give it to you.
