Switch 2 Version of Borderlands 4 Coming on October 3, Additional Details Revealed

2K and Gearbox Software have announced that the Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 is set to launch on October 3, 2025, just a few weeks after its initial launch on September 12 for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Gearbox Software Boss Randy Pitchford himself made the announcement, sharing the information in a video posted on X.

Further in the comments, Pitchford went on to provide more details about the upcoming Switch 2 version, saying that it will aim for full content parity and supports cross-play across platforms. Performance-wise, the game typically runs at 30fps, although performance may dip during intense combat or multiplayer play in handheld mode.

Notable features for the Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 include 4-player local ad hoc co-op, gyro aiming, and a mouse-mode option for the Joy-Cons.

Additionally, there’s currently no performance mode planned, and 120fps support is not available. It will also have an additional download for the physical version due to its file size.
