Sony has officially announced that global PS5 shipments have reached 84.2 million units as of September 30, 2025.
The milestone was revealed in the company’s latest financial report, highlighting continued momentum for the console nearly five years after launch.

Steady Growth for PS5 Hardware and Software
During the three-month period ending September 30, Sony shipped 3.9 million PS5 units, which is a slight increase from the same quarter last year. PSN also saw a boost, with monthly active users rising to 119 million, up by 3 million year-over-year.
For software, combined sales of PS5 and PS4 games reached 80.3 million units for the quarter. Of that figure, 6.3 million were first-party titles, representing a one-million-unit increase compared to the previous year.

72% of all software sales were digital downloads, reflecting a continued shift toward digital consumption.
Ghost of Yotei Hits 3.3 Million
Sucker Punch’s latest open-world action-adventure title, Ghost of Yotei, has sold through 3.3 million units as of November 2, 2025, just 32 days after its release.
In a somewhat offhand comparison, Ghost of Tsushima sold 2.4 million units in its first three days.
