Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled the next major chapter for Diablo IV: Season of Divine Intervention, going live on December 11, 2025.
This season pits players against the Lesser Evils—Azmodan, Duriel, Belial, and Andariel—while introducing sweeping updates to itemization, combat, and progression.
Diablo IV – New Threats: The Return of the Lesser Evils
- Azmodan emerges as a permanent world boss, unleashing devastating magma and earthquakes.
- Duriel burrows into Helltide, spreading parasitic chaos with maggot-infested packs.
- Belial corrupts The Pit, sowing confusion with blinding eyes and apparitions.
- Andariel haunts the Kurast Undercity, twisting Spirit Beacons and spawning deadly shades.
Each encounter offers unique mechanics, rewards, and challenges, ensuring players face fresh dangers across Sanctuary.

Major System Overhauls
Diablo IV Season of Divine Intervention introduces permanent updates to core gameplay:
- Tempering & Masterworking: Players can now select affixes directly, with Masterworking offering a linear path to item perfection.
- Monster Combat Evolved: Smarter, deadlier enemies with over 20 new affixes and dynamic behaviors.
- Defense & Healing Revamp: A new Toughness stat equalizes survivability across builds, while potions now heal instantly for 35% of total health.
- Fortify Rework: Shifts from damage reduction to a reservoir of life that heals over time.

Divine Gifts & Sanctification
Players will ally with the angel Hadriel, unlocking Divine Gifts that provide powerful boons. Each gift can be slotted as Purified (positive effects, doubled rewards) or Corrupted (harder challenges with bonuses).
Additionally, Sanctification allows items to be imbued with celestial powers, granting bonus affixes, improved quality, or unique legendary aspects.

Season Rank & Endgame Content
Replacing Renown, the new Season Rank system requires players to conquer Capstone Dungeons to progress. Rewards include skill points, Paragon points, cosmetics, and even pets like Alefta at Rank 6.
Later in early 2026, The Tower (Beta) will debut as a multi-stage timed dungeon, accompanied by revamped Leaderboards to showcase the strongest wanderers.

New Unique Items & Twitch Drops
Season 11 introduces powerful unique gear across all classes, including Barbarian’s Chainscourged Mail, Druid’s Khamsin Steppewalkers, and Necromancer’s Gravebloom. Players can also earn exclusive cosmetics via Twitch Drops by watching Diablo IV streams between December 12–26.
