Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television have officially announced that Ryan Hurst, best known to fans as the voice of Thor in God of War Ragnarok, will take on the role of Kratos in the upcoming God of War live‑action series.

God of War Live Action Cast and Story

According to a report from Deadline, the series, set to stream on Prime Video, will adapt the critically acclaimed 2018 reboot of the franchise. This storyline follows Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they embark on a journey to honor a loved one’s final wish, navigating Norse mythology and battling gods along the way.

Hurst will transition from voicing one of Kratos’ rivals to portraying Kratos himself. Fans may also recognize Hurst from his roles in Sons of Anarchy and Remember the Titans.

While plot details and the rest of the cast remain under wraps, it looks like Prime has the lead casting in the bag, and we can only hope that it turns out to be a great final product that’s worthy of the game.
