Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled The Reign of Talon, the first fully connected narrative arc in Overwatch history.

Starting February 10, 2026, Season 1 will introduce five new heroes, faction-based meta events, and sweeping gameplay updates that will evolve throughout the year.

A Switch 2 version was also confirmed, but no release details have been provided aside from a Spring target.

Overwatch: The Reign of Talon Details

A Year-Long Narrative Arc

For the first time, Overwatch will deliver a multi-season storyline with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Players will witness the rise of Talon through:

  • Cinematics
  • Motion comics
  • Animated hero trailers
  • In-game events and short stories

This arc will unfold across six seasons before resetting with a new storyline in 2027.

Five New Heroes in Season 1

Season 1 introduces Domina, Emre, Mizuki, Anran, and Jetpack Cat. Each hero plays a pivotal role in the Talon conflict, offering unique kits and abilities that expand gameplay diversity.

  • Domina (Tank): Vishkar heiress wielding hard-light technology.
  • Emre (Damage): Cybernetically enhanced ex-Overwatch agent.
  • Mizuki (Support): Hashimoto clan operative with healing and tethering skills.
  • Anran (Damage): Fire-wielding sister of Wuyang, available via Hero Trial on Feb. 5.
  • Jetpack Cat (Support): A long-awaited feline hero with permanent flight.

Conquest Meta Event

Players will choose allegiance between Overwatch or Talon in a five-week meta event. Completing missions earns faction rewards, including lootboxes, cosmetics, and exclusive skins.

Gameplay & UI Refresh

Season 1 also brings:

  • New sub-roles and passives for Tanks, Damage, and Support.
  • Competitive reset with new rewards like the Crimson Wolf weapon.
