  • Launches in 2027 with upgraded 3D visuals, modernized gameplay, and UGC support
  • Includes original campaigns + expansions Armageddonโ€™s Blade and The Shadow of Death

Ubisoft announced Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake during Opening Night Live 2026, bringing back the critically acclaimed turnโ€‘based strategy classic with a modern reimagining.

Developed by Ubisoft China studios in Chengdu and Shanghai, the game will launch in 2027 on Ubisoft+, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

Modernized Gameplay and Visuals

Rebuilt in the Snowdrop engine, the remake trades the originalโ€™s 2D isometric perspective for a highly detailed 3D world with free camera control. Enhanced with 4K visuals, dynamic lighting, realโ€‘time weather, and shifting seasons, Erathiaโ€™s landscapes and battlefields are brought to life for both newcomers and longtime fans.

The remake introduces qualityโ€‘ofโ€‘life improvements and new planning tools, making the experience more intuitive while staying faithful to the originalโ€™s blend of turnโ€‘based strategy, RPG hero progression, and tactical grid combat.

Campaigns, Factions, and Multiplayer

Players will join Queen Catherine on her crusade to restore order to her kingdom, with the full content of the original game and its expansions, Armageddonโ€™s Blade and The Shadow of Death. All nine factions and campaigns are included, now woven into a single continuous experience with a new prologue campaign and fully produced cinematics.

Multiplayer returns with up to eight players online, improved matchmaking, a simultaneous turn system, and the fanโ€‘favorite Hot Seat mode.

Community Legacy and UGC Support

Honoring the franchiseโ€™s deep community roots, the remake preserves compatibility with thousands of fanโ€‘made maps and campaigns created over the past 25 years. Updated editor tools and a new inโ€‘game UGC hub make it easier than ever to discover, share, and download community content.

Heroes of Might and Magic III Availability

Alongside the announcement, Ubisoft revealed that Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete is now available on Steam, marking the first time the full original version has been released on the platform.
