Clear River Games, working alongside Square Enix, has officially announced Terranigma, a revival of the 1995 SNES action RPG.

The game is set to release in 2027 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG.

Terranigma Returns After 30 Years

Originally developed by Quintet and published by Enix, Terranigma is considered one of the most beloved yet underappreciated JRPGs of the 16-bit era. This marks the first time the game will be re-released since its debut more than three decades ago.

General manager Ali Manzurin of Clear River Games described the project as a way to bring โ€œundiscovered gemsโ€ like Terranigma to modern audiences. Character designer and manga artist Kamui Fujiwara also expressed his excitement, noting that while the remaster may not be identical to the original, he hopes its themes of โ€œgod and humanity, creation and destructionโ€ will resonate with todayโ€™s players.

Key Features
