HBO’s The Last of Us Casts Young Mazino as Jesse for Season 2
HBO and Naughty Dog have announced that Young Mazino has been cast as Jesse in Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us.
Mazino recently starred in the comedy-drama series Beef, alongside Ali Wong, Steven Yuen, and Joseph Lee
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann expressed their excitement for this casting choice, saying that “Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him. We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”
In The Last of Us Part II, Jesse is a member of the community where Ellie and Joel have found themselves after the events of the first game. He is an experienced patrol leader and is described as “a pillar of his community who puts everyone else’s needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost.”
Mazino’s casting comes shortly after Kaitlyn Dever was cast as Abby, and if the trend continues, we should see Dina soon enough.
