Tokyo Game Show is always a special time for SEGA and Atlus, and with the recently held RGG Summit that revealed the latest Like a Dragon game that features Majima, Metaphor: ReFantazio also held a special event that celebrated its imminent release scheduled for October 11.

World Metaphor Summit Event Recap

During the World Metaphor Summit, Atlus marked the end of development for the game with an event that featured the trifecta of Director Katsura Hashino, Character Designer Shigenori Soejima, and Composer Shoji Meguro. The trio shared their experiences behind the development of Metaphor: ReFantazio, along with giving a taste of what players can look forward to when the game launches next month.

The three creators all shared their gratitude to the fans for all of the support they have received during development, and while it did come with challenges, especially with the shift of creating an all-new fantasy world that distanced itself from the Persona series, the team is confident that players should look forward to Metaphor: ReFantazio as the launch date approaches.

During the event, it was revealed that Metaphor: ReFantazio will be getting a demo, offering players about 4 hours of gameplay and a brief look at what they can expect in terms of exploration, combat, and archetypes.

A celebration isn’t complete without cosplayers, especially with the many fantastic characters that can be found inside the world of the game. Well-known cosplayers like Kokoro Shinozaki, Sayuki Arikawa, and Sutanmi made an appearance, bringing characters like Hulkenberg, Strohl, and even the protagonist to life.

To close the event, a number of announcements were made, including a manga adaptation of the game, a number of figures from Kotobukiya and Nendoroid, and even an SH Figuarts of the protagonist.

Looking forward to Tokyo Game Show 2024, SEGA will host a massive booth with playable demos of highly anticipated titles and freebies for attendees. Of course, Metaphor: ReFantazio will take center stage during the show, giving players a closer look at the upcoming RPG.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch on October 11 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
