SEGA has officially announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is launching digitally on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.

The Switch 2 edition will bring enhanced visuals, smoother performance, and full crossplay support.

Players who already own the Nintendo Switch version of the game can purchase an Upgrade Pack to access the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

To celebrate the launch, SEGA is offering special promotions:

  • Werehog Pack Bonus – Available for players who purchase between December 4, 8:00 AM and December 18, 7:59 AM (UTC+8).
  • Upgrade Pack Discount – From December 4 to December 11, 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack will be 50% off.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – Switch 2 Performance And Resolution

Here are the performance modes you can expect with the Switch 2 version of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds:

  • Docked mode, single and 2-player split-screen: 2560×1440@60fps
  • Docked mode, 4-player split-screen: 2560×1440@30fps
  • Handheld mode, single and 2-player split-screen: 1920×1080@60fps
  • Handheld mode, 4-player split-screen: 1920×1080@30fps

Crossplay and Features

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will feature cross-play support, allowing players to compete worldwide regardless of their console of choice.

Other key features include:

  • Saved Data Transfer – Carry over progress from the Nintendo Switch version.
  • Local Wireless Play – Up to 8 players can race together on Nintendo Switch consoles.
  • Digital Deluxe Option – Bundle the Upgrade Pack with the Digital Deluxe Edition for added savings, which includes the base game and Season Pass.
