Game Freak has announced that Beast of Reincarnation, their upcoming action RPG, is launching in Summer 2026 on Xbox Series, PC via Steam, Xbox Cloud, and PS5.

At the latest Developer Direct, Game Freak unveiled an in-depth look at the game, which is a project six years in development. It is described as a “one-person, one-dog action RPG,” combining real-time swordplay with tactical, command-driven support mechanics.

The World of 4026 AD

In Beast of Reincarnation, players step into the shoes of Emma, a blighted outcast who wields plant-manipulating powers, and her canine companion Koo, a malefact creature tied to the world’s corruption. Together, they journey across a land ravaged by blight, confronting monstrous entities known as Nushi and ultimately facing the mysterious Beast of Reincarnation.

The blight reshapes the environment into dense forests mid-adventure, forcing players to adapt to ever-changing landscapes.

Best of Reincarnation Combat System

The gameplay is a mix of two styles:

• Emma – Fast-paced katana combat with parries and combos.
• Koo – Command-based abilities triggered via a tactical menu, slowing combat to allow strategic planning.

Players can equip Spirit Stones for unique effects, discover new katanas and charms, and build their own combat style. Three difficulty modes (Normal, Hard, Story) ensure accessibility for all players.

Secrets and Storytelling
