Italian developer Stormind Games has officially announced the return of its flagship horror franchise with Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy. Revealed during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase on March 12, 2026, the title serves as the grand finale to the trilogy that began with 2018’s Tormented Fathers.

Following the studio’s recent high-profile collaborations on A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead and Mafia: The Old Country, CEO Antonio Cannata expressed a “strong sense of respect and responsibility” toward the community in bringing the series back to life.

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy New Gameplay Pillars and Conclusion

Red Nun’s Legacy is designed as both a standalone experience for newcomers and a long-awaited resolution for series veterans. Players will explore a sprawling convent to uncover the origins of the Red Nun myth while being pursued by relentless “Stalkers”.

A significant addition to the gameplay loop is the inclusion of Hypnosis Powers. This mechanic allows players to “read” objects to reveal forgotten memories and expose concealed passages, effectively reshaping their understanding of the environment as they solve puzzles.

Evolution of the Franchise

Game Director Antonio Cutrona noted that while the game digs deeper into the established lore, it introduces “refreshed vision” through improved cinematics and storytelling. The studio has released the first of three developer diaries, titled “Reviving Remothered,” which details the team’s motivation for returning to their roots.
