Xbox Console Prices Increasing Worldwide This August

In a nutshell

  • Price hike effective August 1, 2026: +$100 for 512 GB, +$150 for 1 TB models.
  • 2 TB model discontinued, leaving 512 GB and 1 TB options.

Microsoft has announced that, starting August 1, 2026, Xbox console prices will rise worldwide once again, following two price increases last year. The 512 GB models will increase by $100, while the 1 TB models will increase by $150.

Xbox Raises Prices AGAIN

According to Xbox, the decision stems from a 2.5x surge in storage and memory costs, with another doubling expected by late 2027. Unlike other consumer electronics, consoles are often sold at a loss, making the rising component crisis particularly challenging for the industry.

The new prices are now as follows:

  • Series S 512GB: $399 –> $499
  • Series S 1TB: $449 –> $599
  • Series X 1TB: $649 –> $800
  • Series X 1TB Digital: $599 –> $750

New Programs to Ease the Impact

To soften the blow, Microsoft is rolling out several accessibility initiatives:

  • Buy Now, Pay Later options via Microsoft Stores.
  • 0% APR financing for up to 12 months.
  • Trade‑in programs with retail partners for cash or credit.
  • Certified refurbished consoles at up to $100 off MSRP.
