Xbox has officially announced that it will publish PHYSINT, the next project from Kojima Productions, further strengthening its collaboration with legendary creator Hideo Kojima.
Asha Sharma, Xbox CEO, shared:
“Creators have choices about where and how they bring their ideas to life. We’re honored that Kojima‑san has chosen Xbox to work with Kojima Productions on PHYSINT. His ambition to challenge conventions reflects the kind of creativity we want to support at Xbox.”

Kojima’s Vision for PHYSINT
Hideo Kojima confirmed that PHYSINT will push boundaries in the action‑espionage genre, building on his legacy of innovation.
“As we move forward with the development of PHYSINT, we remain committed to redefining the action‑espionage genre for players around the world,” Kojima said.
Kojima also announced that they received an unexpected notice from PlayStation Studios in mid-June of this year that they wanted to cancel the project. Kojima has spent the last few months looking for a partner.
Beyond Gaming: Film and TV
The partnership isn’t limited to games. Xbox and Kojima Productions revealed plans to collaborate across film and television, bringing new stories to wider audiences. This marks a significant expansion of Kojima’s creative reach beyond interactive entertainment.
This comes after the Sony announcement that they have made the “difficult” decision to step away from collaborating with Hideo Kojima on the project.
