Another year is about to end which means that our December 2021 Game Releases are set to fill the month with enough games to bring us into the new year.
2021 was a year filled with delays and setbacks but has delivered some strong entries throughout the year from Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Forza Horizon 5 to name a few.
Arguably the biggest game releasing this month is the cherry on top for Xbox, which is Halo Infinite. Master Chief is back after being delayed for quite a bit but if the technical tests are any indication, then this may be another masterpiece in the making.
Other titles to close out the month are Danganronpa Decandence, Solar Ash, and Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach.
Without further ado, here are your December 2021 Game Releases!
December 2021 Game Releases
Solar Ash
Release Date: December 2, 2021 Platform: PC, PS5, PS4
All year long, I’ve been trying to predict this game to be given by PS Plus. Alas, it was not meant to be but after being delayed, we can hopefully expect a perfectly polished version of the game.
Chorus
Release Date: December 3, 2021 Platform: PC, Xbox Series, PS5, PS4, Xbox One
Step into the shoes of Nara and the sentient warship Forsaken as they fight against The Circle – a cult hellbent on conquering the universe. As you venture into different star systems gathering allies and discovering the mysteries behind your sentient warship, all these come together in the ultimate fight to unite the universe.
Danganronpa Decadence
Release Date: December 3, 2021 Platform: Nintendo Switch
Danganronpa is possibly my favorite courtroom/investigation visual novel due to its perfect harmony of quirky characters mixed with a seriously dark dystopian premise. This month, we finally get the full collection alongside a nice surprise in Ultimate Summer Camp for the Nintendo Switch
Pick of the Month: Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
Release Date: December 3, 2021 Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, Mac
This is why we have disclaimers on our articles, because sometimes delays happen close to the release date!
Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker was unfortunately delayed to December 7th alongside the release of Halo Infinite, making it tough for fans of both games to choose which one to play first.
Pick of the Month 2: Halo Infinite
Release Date: December 8, 2021 Platform: Xbox Series, PC
It doesn’t get bigger than Halo Infinite to end the year. Due out last year when the Xbox Series had its debut, it was delayed another year to improve on its campaign and multiplayer. With its multiplayer garnering a positive reaction from many of its players, it’s only a few days left to step into the shoes of Master Chief and save the universe once again.
Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX
Release Date: December 9, 2021 Platform: PC, Switch, iOS
A nostalgia kick to be sure, Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX will be making its return this month and while it won’t feature the full experience using the CD’s from before, it will still be a treat for the fans of the classic from years ago.
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth
Release Date: December 16, 2021 Platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series
The classic anime is getting a game befitting of its status. Deedlit takes centerstage in this metroidvania in the Record of Lodoss War universe. While it features gameplay and art strikingly similar to other titles in the genre, it would be interesting to see how this plays out.
The Gunk
Release Date: December 16, 2021 Platform: PC, Xbox Series, Xbox One
Xbox is ending the year strong, and Gunk will be another game to play for lucky Game Pass subscribers when it releases. Will it be another banger from team green?
Among Us
Release Date: December 14, 2021 Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One
It’s taken quite a while, but I guess better late than never? The surprise hit from Innersloth will finally be making its way to the PlayStation and Xbox, bringing suspicious activity and impostor-hunting to a console near you.
Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach
Release Date: December 16, 2021 Platform: PS5, PS4, PC
Closing out the year on a frightening note seems like a good idea to end 2021. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach takes your security guard from the security room for a larger area to roam and avoid the jump scare filled horror house of animated mascots. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, quiet all through the house, not a thing was moving, but… behind you!
