Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal looks absolutely crazy, books an October 7 release date
Ubisoft has officially taken the lid off, and we can now feast our eyes on the much awaited Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal that’s looking pretty bonkers, to say the least. Not just that, it was also revealed that Far Cry 6 will release on October 7 later this year.
Check out the gameplay trailer below.
Far Cry 6 is Ubisoft’s most ambitious open world effort yet. Set in Yara, ruled by the magnificent portrayal of president Antón Castillo by none other than Giancarlo Esposito, who wants to bring Yara back to its former glory, oppressing the people of Yara to achieve his dreams.
You are Dani Rojas, sick of Castillo’s rule, and will stop at nothing to free Yara by building a guerilla army to take back the land by joining forces with a colorful cast of characters, including Clara Garcia, the leader of revolutionary group Libertad, or Juan Cortez, a jaded ex-KGB spy and guerrilla master as they fight their way to take down the tyrant.
Immediately, you’ll notice the upgraded visuals of the game – from the rusted steel of your arsenal to the greens of the jungle, the scenery is looking vibrant and deadly. The game will surely make use of the current gen hardware, and we’re hoping for a crisp 4K 60FPS.
Out of everything that was shown, the weapons will have to take the cake. Apart from your usual arsenal, you’ll get to use some crazy weapons, like a backpack rocket launcher, to a Macarena-playing instrument of death. It’s nuts.
Far Cry 6 gives players unprecedented freedom to experience the game the way they want by supporting their playstyle, whether they prefer a stealthy or forceful approach. In addition to resolver options, players will be able to pick traditional weapons and use new ways to traverse the world such as horses, tanks and crazy DIY vehicles. They will also be able to pair up with all-new animal companions like Chorizo, the adorable wiener dog no soldier can ignore or Guapo, Juan’s soldier-hungry pet crocodile.
Overall, it looks like Ubisoft are upping the stakes for this one. While Far Cry 5 was a decent effort with an interesting premise, it did very little to push the envelope and this latest entry is looking to do just that.
