During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray announced that Tekken 8 will launch on January 26, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

The reveal confirmed that a total of 32 characters will make the roster, including returning favorites such as Kuma, Leo, Shaheen, Steve, Dragunov, and Yoshimitsu. All characters will have deep customization choices, including completely new options, with the possibility to change colors as well as the size and position of accessories.

Additionally, Tekken 8 is confirmed to have an Arcade Quest mode, a new single-player mode where players can create and customize their own avatars and “visit” different arcades to participate in matches designed to improve their play and teach new techniques. As players progress through the story, they will continue to develop and grow stronger along with their avatar, honing their skills against tougher and tougher opponents in a story not too different from how some real players got into esports.
