BlizzCon to hold virtual event in early 2021
After the cancellation announcement last May, Blizzard had hoped to still push through with the annual event, albeit through another medium. An Activision fiscal earnings call has confirmed that the company will be holding a digital event in early 2021.
As quoted from PC Gamer, Blizzard President J. Allen Brack says that they are “planning on channeling the spirit of BlizzCon into a virtual event in the early part of next year. We’re really fortunate to have a passionate and engaged community that’s really looking forward to what we’re creating and what we’re working on. And we’re looking forward to sharing what the teams have been working on for that event.”
Nothing else has been officially shared but fans looking forward to the event can rest easy as they can expect the latest news and updates on their favorite Blizzard franchises like Diablo and Overwatch when the event happens.
