Borderlands 3 joining the launch title rosters for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series

The next-gen systems are coming and with it, Borderlands in all its 4K 60FPS glory. 2K and Gearbox have announced that Borderlands 3 will play at a buttery smooth 60FPS for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when they release alongside the console launch dates. Furthermore, the next-gen versions of Borderlands 3 will allow for 3-4 player split-screen for local multiplayer madness.

The official announcement comes from the Borderlands 3 social media accounts, and coming with the next-gen upgrade will be a vertical split screen mode by popular demand.

Current-gen owners of the game will enjoy the next-gen upgrade free of charge and all add-on content and save files will be transferred as well. For disc-based game owners, you’ll need your Borderlands 3 disc to play the game on your new next-gen consoles.
