Mafia: Definitive Edition update adds Noir Mode and Custom HUD settings

Mafia: Definitive Edition was just released last month and now, the game is getting its first update, adding a “Noir Mode”, new HUD options, and much more.

In a blog post by the official Mafia site, the update will also address various player concerns as well as add new features as you stroll along the streets of Lost Heaven.

The highlight of the update is Noir Mode, which can be toggled on and off to give you that legit 1930’s vibe, especially with the story of the game being as good as it is based on our review.

Along with Noir Mode, the update adds custom HUD options like allowing you to switch the objective marker on and off or even going full Minimal HUD to fully immerse yourself in the wonderfully recreated world, giving you the opportunity to get those fantastic screenshots.

As one of our gripes in our review, we mentioned that the Free Ride mode didn’t offer much incentive to jump into due to the lack of activities. 2K and Hangar 13 are being sly about this, but it looks like we’re getting races and more taxi jobs in Free Ride mode depending on your vehicle.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
