Riot Forge recently released official gameplay footage for its first game, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, which is a single-player, turn-based RPG that will take a deeper dive into the world of League of Legends’ Runeterra. More specifically, Bilgewater and Shadow Isles.

Exploration includes the twisted streets of Bilgewater and the mysterious dungeons of the Shadow Isles. Going through them you’ll encounter secrets, traps and puzzles, and enemies and monsters that roam the environment.

Ruined King uses a turn-based, lane initiative combat system. Champions will take turns casting lane, instant, and ultimate abilities. Champions can also use items and passive abilities during combat. The system includes a health, mana, an overcharge bar, and a turn order list.

Each champion will have a variety of stats which you’ll be able to level up. In addition, you can upgrade Runes and Abilities to customize a champion and further shift their roles and capabilities for improved synergies.

The game will have a large roster of items from potions to weapons which can be custosmized and crafted through Accessories, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Cooking.

Ruined King will also have various activities like a Bounty Board, Fishing, Bestiary, Side Quests, Battle Arena, and Lore.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story will be the first single-player game that will bring the LoL universe to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, with free upgrades to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series when available.
