The Last of Us Part II Director wants to make a Punisher and Ghost Rider game
The Last of Us Part II has been a massive success for Naughty Dog, and if the recent awards are anything to go by, the next project from the celebrated studio has some big shoes to fill. Neil Druckmann has recently confirmed that they are indeed making something “very cool”, and while we don’t quite know what that is, it would indeed be something very cool to see the studio work on something that isn’t Uncharted or The Last of Us.
As a reply to a hypothetical question from Greg Miller, asking “what established IP would you want to make a game for?”, Druckmann answered with some very interesting choices, with The Punisher coming out as his top choice. A Punisher game by Naughty Dog? That’s quite an idea.
This isn’t an indication of what new game Naughty Dog is working on (or is it), but it would be indeed be cool to see this come to reality. Apart from The Punisher, another Marvel IP in Ghost Rider was mentioned, which could result in quite the partnership if it happens. Naughty Dog and Marvel does have a nice ring to it.
Thinking of The Punisher, The Last of Us Part II has an already visceral combat system to it, so a few more tweaks could make it seem like plausible to consider. Wishful thinking, but hey, ain’t nothing wrong with that.
What game would you want Naughty Dog to work on next if you had the choice?
