CD Projekt Red source codes allegedly up for auction following hack
Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red announced that they have been the target of a malicious cyber attack which saw a lot of internal data and source code stolen by unidentified hackers. Now, it seems that the ransomed data has allegedly leaked online, and being auctioned out to the highest bidder.
According to vx-underground, the hackers have made the source code for Cyberpunk 2077, Gwent, and The Witcher 3 available over at an internet forum famous within hacker circles called Exploits. The starting bid is $1 Million and $7 Million to buy it outright.
Since the hack, CD Projekt Red has made it clear that they will “not give in to the demands nor negotiate” with the hacker, and will be taking the necessary steps to mitigate the damage. As per their investigation, no personal data was compromised.
