Final Fantasy alums launch indie RPG Astria Ascending later in 2021
Anyone hungry for JRPGs this year, look no further as the upcoming JRPG Astria Ascending has been recently announced during the Xbox Indies Twitch Gaming Showcase. With a narrative written by Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII Remake) and score by Hitoshi Sakamoto (Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story), we’re in good hands knowing that this game has been created alongside Final Fantasy alums. It will be localized by Dear Villagers and will be released on PC and consoles including a Xbox Game Pass Day One Launch.
You will take the role of the Demigods—eight heroes tasked with the fate of the world. Throughout the world of Orcanon, each character has their own story, twenty-five dungeons and 30-50 hours of gameplay. JRPG staples fill this epic journey including turn-based combat, side quests and mini-games. From the visuals, it’s looking like Odin’s Sphere mixed with elements of Octopath Traveller.
Astria Ascending is coming soon to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC. It will be playable Day One on the Xbox Box Game Pass.
