Genshin Impact 2.1 goes live on September 1
Genshin Impact’s 2.1 update, which brings new playable characters like Raiden Shogun and Aloy, new areas to explore, and fishing (fishing!) will be available on September 1, miHoYo has announced.
Following the massive 2.0 expansion, the main storyline revolving around the Traveler, the Electro Archon, various factions, and the people of Inazuma will come to an end in the final chapter of Inazuma’s Archon Quest.
Players will also be able to visit Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island all while encountering new bosses like the Hydro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, and the new Trounce Domain Boss Signora.

The 2.1 update will also see the much-awaited arrival of 3 new playable characters in Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Kujou Sara.
Raiden Shogun is a five-star Electro polearm user who can deal massive damage and provide helpful buffs to the team. Sangonomiya Kokomi, the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and leader of the resistance forces, is a five-star Hydro catalyst that can provide a great amount of healing to teammates. Lastly, Kujou Sara, the bold and decisive general of the Tenryou Commission loyal to the Shogun is an Electro bow user that can provide buffs to her teammates.
Announced last month, Aloy will also be making her way to Genshin Impact and will be available as a free five-star character to players for a limited time. PlayStation players can get Aloy in the 2.1 update and will be available for all in the 2.2 update.
Fishing will also be introduced in the Genshin Impact 2.1 update, where players can soon go angling for a variety of fishes across the continent of Teyvat, and they can be used to produce fish meat or exchanged for rewards and new fishing rods from the Fishing Association.
Genshin Impact is now available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
