Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion delayed to December 7
Delays have become a regular occurrence these days, even in instances that seem to have things figured out. In this case, Final Fantasy XIV‘s biggest expansion to date, Endwalker, was supposed to release towards the end of November but has now been delayed to December 7 after a surprise announcement just a few weeks before its expected release.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida, or Yoshi-P as more famously known, announced this as part of a letter to the producer stream (starts at around the 58:25 mark) and broke down in tears to let the audience know that he takes full responsibility for the delay, saying that he wants to make sure that everything is working up to snuff and would deliver the best possible expansion for Final Fantasy XIV.
Yoshida continued on to say that this was the first time in his entire career that he had announced a delay after announcing an actual release date and felt deeply apologetic about it, even though it was just a couple of weeks. He pointed out that players have been preparing for it and even taking leaves to play it right away.
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will launch on PS4, PS5, Mac, and PC on December 7 with early access for premium subscribers on December 3.
