Square Enix announced its new Strategy RPG called The Diofield Chronicle during Sony’s State of Play presentation earlier today.

With conflict brewing between Trovelt-Schoevian Empire and Rowetale Alliance, The Kingdom of Alletain remains unaffected by the turmoil and crisis that besieges the continent. However, soon war finds its way into their lands and blood will stain its pristine soil.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the game will feature real-time tactical battles that are “defined by real-time assessment of battlefield conditions and issuing decisive orders that take advantage of your troops’ strengths and weaknesses to gain advantage over your foe. Make clever use of a variety of skills, classes, and equipment to complete your mission.”

The game is another strategy RPG along the likes of the recently released Triangle Strategy and will include development veterans like Character Designer Taiki (Lord of Vermillion III, IV), Kamikokuryo Isamu (Final Fantasy XII, XIII), and Sound Composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell (Game of Thrones).

The DioField Chronicle is launching in 2022 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
