Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is a new Side-scrolling action Platformer from Inti Creates
Inti Creates has announced Grim Guardians: Demon Purge for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam.
The company, known for games such as Gal Gun, Azure Striker Gunvolt, Mega Man 10, and more, has also revealed a project kickoff trailer that shows us a good chunk of gameplay, looking like a good mix of their titles in an easily recognizable Castlevania-inspired format.
Grim Guardians: Demon Purge will see players take control of either Shinobu or Maya, demon hunters and sisters, each with unique playstyles as they traverse through a demonic castle.
The game looks absolutely gorgeous and the switching of characters to overcome certain parts of the castle looks like it adds a new layer to an already tried and tested genre.
Here’s an overview of the game:
Grim Guardians: Demon Purge centers around two demon hunters who return to their school after a mission only to find a demonic castle where it once stood. Players control both of the demon hunting sisters in this 2D side-scrolling action game. Players must master each of the sisters’ unique abilities and attributes to overcome the challenging stages with bosses awaiting their arrival. They’ll also be able to find new routes through each stage using the two characters’ abilities, keeping play throughs fresh.
Other features include two-player co-op with special actions, extensive difficulty options with the “Style System,” unique changes on repeat plays, and most importantly the quality and challenge players have come to expect from Inti Creates titles, this time with a new gothic horror aesthetic.
The stars of Grim Guardians: Demon Purge are the long-distance focused Shinobu Kamizono and the close-range brawler Maya Kamizono. Players will need to consider the situation when choosing which sister to control as they make their way through the castle, investigating the mystery of what happened to their school and its students.
Grim Guardian: Demon Purge is coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. No release date has been announced yet.
