Multiple Assassin’s Creed Games, Including one set in Japan, Rumored to be Announced

Ahead of Ubisoft Forward, where the “future” of Assassin’s Creed titles will be shown, a new report has been circulating saying that the event will see the reveal of multiple games, including one set in Japan.

According to reports from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and Tom Henderson of Try Hard Guides, Ubisoft Forward will play host to big reveals for the franchise, starting out with the recently confirmed Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

More details about the game are expected, which will be set in Baghdad with players taking control of Basim. The game is said to return to the basics, steering clear of the RPG elements from recent titles like Valhalla and Odyssey.

The next game two games, both of which will be part of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, are code-named Project Red and Project Hexe.

Project Red is reportedly set in Japan, and depicted by a samurai-like assassin in early art concepts. Project Hexe (previously named Project Neo), on the other hand, will be the “darkest” Assassin’s Creed game ever and is said to take place during the witch hunt era in 16th century Europe.

Project Red is being handled by Ubisoft Quebec and Project Hexe is being handled by Ubisoft Montreal.

Henderson also reports that a mobile game set in China, named Project Jade, will also be announced alongside the final DLC for Valhalla.

A VR title called Project Nexus is reportedly in development, but it remains unclear if it will be revealed during Ubisoft Forward.

It’s taken a while, but if the reports are true, then we will finally be getting that Japanese-themed Assassin’s Creed game. While others may bring up Ghost of Tsushima, it would be interesting to see how Ubisoft puts their own spin to the setting.

In any case, we won’t need to wait too long to hear about this when Ubisoft Forward airs on September 11 at 3 AM SGT (3 AM Philippines).
