Gotham Knights Confirmed to run at 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series
Warner Bros. Games has confirmed that Gotham Knights will be capped at 30 FPS for the PS5 and Xbox Series.
Speaking on the official Discord channel of Gotham Knights, executive producer Fleur Marty mentions that the upcoming title will run at 30 FPS on consoles “due to the types of features we have in our game.”
Marty goes on to explain that the process of getting higher frames is not as straightforward as lowering the resolution because the game offers a “fully untethered co-op experience”, which results in Gotham Knights not having performance/quality toggles, something that is a common addition for current-gen games.
As you can guess, based on the reactions, the announcement didn’t go down well with fans looking forward to the game. You can see a screenshot of the said announcement below.
Players have pointed out that it is surprising that this is only being communicated now, barely a week before the game launches. With it being a current-gen-only title, players are used to developers providing performance/quality toggles, so this is indeed a surprise. Maybe an update down the line?
Gotham Knights is scheduled to release on October 21, 2022 for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
