Microsoft has now Completed its Acquisition of Activision Blizzard

Microsoft has announced that it has finally closed and completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

The completion of this $68.7 billion acquisition means that the company now owns some of the most beloved franchises in gaming history such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, and much more.

“I’ve long admired the work of Activision, Blizzard, and King, and the impact they’ve had on gaming, entertainment, and pop culture,” says Xbox boss Phil Spencer as the almost two-year saga finally comes to an end.

“As one team, we’ll learn, innovate, and continue to deliver on our promise to bring the joy and community of gaming to more people,” continued Spencer.

Over the course of 20 months, Microsoft has received scrutiny from the US and UK regulators, and while it was a tough battle, the company finally reached the finish line.

Prior to this acquisition, Microsoft had also acquired Bethesda along with its IPs such as Doom, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and much more.
