Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo IV‘s latest season, entitled Season of the Infernal Hordes, is launching on August 6 at 10 AM PT/ August 7 at 1 AM SGT!
In this new season, players can look forward to new Seasonal Realm dungeons, new Uniques and Legendaries, and a new wave-based feature called The Infernal Hordes.
The Infernal Hordes is a wave-based feature that can be tackled solo or with friends. Between waves, players can select Infernal Offerings—boons or banes that augment the run—to increase the difficulty of enemies and enhance the final rewards.
This feature is accessible in both the Eternal and Seasonal Realms. In the Seasonal Realm, it is integrated into a Seasonal Questline, while in the Eternal Realm, it becomes available after completing a brief new Questline at World Tier III.
At the end of each Infernal Hordes run, players will confront the Fell Council. There are five members in total, with three selected at random for each encounter. Players must be cautious of their unique abilities and the various combinations they present.
Once Seasonal Progression is unlocked, the Infernal Hordes will prove to be one of the best ways to further increase reputation and caches.
Additionally, new Hellbreach Dungeons in the Seasonal Realm offer a preview of what to expect in Infernal Hordes. These dungeons reward players with Burning Aether, which can be spent on chests at the end.
A new Battle Pass will also be available, featuring 28 Free Tiers and 62 Premium Tiers, offering players a ton of rewards for playing through the game.
Also, over 50 new Uniques and Legendaries are coming this Season and will persist beyond the Season’s end, offering players to grind further for these powerful items.
A developer update livestream is scheduled for August 1 at 11 AM PDT / August 2 at 2 AM SGT, and will dive deeper into this new season, uncovering more information about the latest offering from the team.
