Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake uses the acclaimed HD-2D style, which blends beautifully rendered and dynamic 3D backgrounds with classic 2D-pixel sprites. This approach retains the spirit of the classic Dragon Quest III and provides the creative opportunity to make it more accessible and appealing, with more detailed lighting and shading effects, a more visually spectacular world to roam, and beautifully rendered monsters. This remake also features an entirely new monster wrangler vocation, monster arena tournaments, stronger enemies, and all-new scenes that add depth to the narrative.

Story 

Years ago, the great hero Ortega bid farewell to his wife and child on a quest to defeat the villainous Archfiend Baramos. Ortega failed his quest, and Baramos still threatens the world. Now, on their sixteenth birthday, Ortegaʼs only child is summoned by the king of Aliahan and entrusted with a mission of the highest import: to take on Ortegaʼs quest, vanquish Baramos, and save the world.
