Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, its latest foldable smartphones. The new devices are Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldables to date, integrating a new design with updated specs, camera technology, and artificial intelligence features. Powered by the new One UI 8, the new foldables incorporate AI specifically optimized for a foldable format. The Galaxy Z Series is available for pre-order starting July 9, with general sales beginning on August 1.

Galaxy Z Fold 7

The design of the Galaxy Z Fold7 features significant changes in its dimensions and materials. It weighs 215 grams and measures 8.9 mm thick when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. The device includes a wider 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x cover display with a new 21:9 aspect ratio. When opened, it reveals an 8.0-inch main display, which is 11% larger than the previous generation and has a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. For durability, the phone is built with an Armor FlexHinge, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover screen, and an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame. The main display has been restructured with a Titanium plate layer and 50% thicker Ultra-Thin Glass to increase its toughness.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, which Samsung states provides performance boosts of 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to the prior generation. The camera system marks a first for the Z series with a 200MP wide-angle camera. This is complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom, and a 10MP camera on the main display. AI-driven software features include Samsung’s next-generation ProVisual Engine for faster image processing , Photo Assist for editing objects , and an enhanced Generative Edit tool that can proactively suggest erasures.

Running on Android 16, the device introduces One UI 8, which brings new AI capabilities to the foldable. Features like Gemini Live have been enhanced with multimodal AI, allowing users to ask contextual questions via text or speech by sharing their screen or camera view. The software is optimized for the large screen with tools like AI Results View, which displays AI-generated content in a separate window to avoid obstructing the user’s original work. Security has also been updated with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) for on-device AI and the integration of post-quantum cryptography into Secure Wi-Fi. Pre-order offers for the Galaxy Z Fold7 include a free storage upgrade worth ₱8,000 and various discounts through partner banks and retailers.

Galaxy Z Flip 7

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 introduces significant hardware and software upgrades over its predecessor. Its main display is a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, and both the main screen and the new 4.1-inch FlexWindow feature a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The device is powered by the Exynos 2500 and runs on Android 16 with One UI 8.

A major focus for the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the integration of AI, particularly on the cover screen. The FlexWindow also features new widgets like Now Bar, for real-time app activity, and Now Brief, for personalized daily updates such as traffic and calendar events. For the first time on a Z Flip model, Samsung DeX is included, allowing the phone to function as a workstation when connected to a screen

You can use Gemini Live directly on the FlexWindow for voice searches and hands-free tasks. Users can also get real-time help by pointing the camera at objects and asking questions via camera sharing on Gemini Live.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which features a 6.7-inch main display and is available in Black and White. It is equipped with a 50MP FlexCam for taking high-quality selfies and videos in Flex Mode. Pre-order promotions for both the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE run until July 31 and include a free storage upgrade valued at ₱8,000, as well as various savings and installment plans through partner banks and retailers.
