Genshin Impact to End PS4 Support in 2026

In a nutshell

  • Genshin Impact will end PS4 support by April 2026, citing hardware limitations and platform size concerns. PS5 support remains unaffected.
  • Shutdown phases include game removal (Sept 10, 2025), in-game purchases delisting (Feb 25, 2026), and full login/update cutoff (April 8, 2026).
  • Account migration begins Dec 17, 2025, allowing players to bind their progress to PS5, PC, or mobile platforms

HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact will discontinue support for the PS4, with a phased shutdown set to begin later this year and conclude in April 2026.

The company cites growing concerns over hardware limitations and platform application size, which is understandable given the age of the PS4 hardware. That said, PS5 support will remain unaffected.

Genshin Impact PS4 Discontinuation Timeline

The discontinuation of Genshin Impact support on the PS4 will roll out in three key phases:

  • Game Removal (September 10, 2025)
    • Genshin Impact will be delisted from the PS4 store. New players will no longer be able to download the game, though existing users can still re-download it via their Library.
  • In-Game Purchases Delisting (February 25, 2026)
    • All top-ups and purchases will be removed from both the PS Store and the in-game shop. Unclaimed items can still be retrieved by logging into the game before the final cutoff.
  • End of Update Support (April 8, 2026)
    • Update patches will cease, and players will no longer be able to log in on PS4. Any remaining purchases must be claimed via PS5 or other supported platforms.

Account Migration and Binding

Starting December 17, 2025, players will receive prompts to bind their accounts to other login methods. This ensures that progress can be carried over to PS5, PC, or mobile platforms.
